The Neepawa-Langford trail is 34 km and approximately 21 miles in length. It stretches from the Town of Neepawa to the southern boundary of Langford RM. The route begins at the Roadside Park Kiosk at the corner of Broadway & Hwy 16 in Neepawa and ends near Wellwood.
The Town of Neepawa, childhood home of Margaret Laurence, author of the “The Stone Angel” amongst numerous other works of Canadian literature, marks the northern boundary of the Neepawa Langford Trail. The Trans Canada trail makes use of the trail network within town and along the Whitemud River Valley. Leaving Neepawa it heads south. East of Lake Irwin in the RM of Langford the trail follows rural roads that take you through some diverse scenery throughout Langford’s Hammerston Sandhills where a variety of wildlife and vegetation can be seen. The terrain varies greatly from intensely cultivated and irrigated potato fields to rolling pastures.
The Neepawa-Langford trail offers unlimited opportunities for nature lovers, artists, historians, photographers, cyclists and explorers. Our trails are as varied as the multicultural makeup of our region.
